True Purity

Many Christian girls and even women want to start dating. Generally speaking, we're told that there are two rules. 1. Don't have sex. 2. Date a Christian. However, there is SO much more to it. What is the purpose of dating? To get married, right? So why would you start a relationship with someone who you barely know? Do you know their character? Do they hold the door, let ladies go in front of him, and does he try to be a gentleman? This is the kind of guy I want. I want a guy who wants to love like Christ does. Basically, my first suggestion is don't rush into things. I believe in courtship. Get to know them!! Do you want to marry a stranger? Then, purity. Just because you don't have sex doesn't mean you are pure. Sexually, yes. Emotionally, are you? Giving your heart over to guy before you know his character is arguably just as bad. If your future husband could watch you right now with guys, would he be upset? Would he feel hurt and ignored? Would he feel as if you're being unfaithful to him? Yes, you aren't married but you still have duties as a wife even if you aren't yet. "She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life." Proverbs 31:12 This means every single day of your life. It doesn't matter if your married or if you have even met yet. You still need to guard your heart for him. You should be doing this to glorify God and honor you husband. In my opinion, you should let God work in your love life. Number one, you don't know nearly as much. Number two, you are really young at this point (I'm guessing). Make sure your standards are high too. This goes to men and women. Marry someone who wants to love like Christ loves us. Consistently and determinedly. Marry a man who doesn't stop fighting. Marry a man who loves Christ more than you. Ladies, you shouldn't be flirting with guy after guy or even one because flirting is lying. When you flirt you are deceiving these men into thinking you are something you're not. That's super manipulative. Secondly, you should helping your brothers in Christ resist sexual temptation and lust; not encouraging it. Prepare yourself for your future spouse and respect the opposite sex. Guys, she's God's princess. You should not be thinking about defiling her. Mainly, I think if you continue to grow friendships with men/women not romantic relationships, God will show you the perfect man/woman for you. No lust. Just love.
